MABA is pleased to announce its partnership with the Center for Human Rights & Constitutional Law (“CHRCL”) to coordinate missions to detention centers where children have been detained by the Trump Administration. The CHRCL has been granted access through the Flores settlement to interview children held in detention centers located in San Ysidro, California; Ajo, Arizona; Santa Teresa, New Mexico; and Southwest Key-Casa Padre, Texas.
If you are interested in participating in these missions, please click here to access the Google doc to register as a MABA volunteer. Once you have registered, please sign the ICE Code of Conduct form and email the form to the MABA Administrator Claudia Perez at email@example.com.
Please note that it may take anywhere from two to three weeks to get MABA volunteers into the detention centers as permits must be secured by the CHRCL for each participating volunteer. Currently, only Spanish-speaking attorneys are being sought given the high demand. If you do not speak Spanish, but would like to provide assistance to the CHRCL, you can donate by going to the following website: www.centerforhumanrights.org
Thank you for being part of la resistencia and helping make a difference in these children’s lives.
