The Mexican American Bar Association (“MABA”) is a professional organization whose mission is to empower the Latino community. Our membership is comprised of law students, attorneys, mediators, judges, and others in the legal community in Los Angeles County. MABA organizes several events to carry out its mission including Community Legal Fairs and visits to Los Angeles County high schools.
This year, MABA is excited to announce its second MABA High School Scholarship to support one first-year college student beginning college in the Fall of 2016 with his or her college-related expenses. Only students who attend schools that participate in MABA’s High School Visitation Program in 2016 are eligible to apply. In awarding the Scholarship, MABA will consider each applicant’s financial need, community service, leadership experience, and any hardship experienced in pursing an education. Because MABA is firmly committed to the empowerment of the Latino community, all students, regardless of immigration status, are eligible to apply. MABA will award, at least, one student with a $1,000 Scholarship.
