The Mexican American Bar Association is partnering with Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project and we are seeking attorney volunteers to help with immigration consultations for unaccompanied children who have recently arrived to LA County.
Esperanza is a seasoned provider of the Legal Orientation Program for Custodians of Unaccompanied Alien Children (LOPC) and through this program gives legal orientations and individual screenings to hundreds of unaccompanied minors and caregivers each year. The individual screenings consist of interviewing the minor to assess their potential relief from removal, and then explaining this assessment and connecting them with a list of appropriate legal service providers. Due to the pandemic, the LOPC is done virtually, through Zoom. We are seeking volunteers for these individual screenings.

Deadline to register is September 17th.
